The Community

Our community, Comitan, is mostly made up of Americans and Canadians and is located on the beach of the inner bay.  We have two Italian and one Mexican restaurant right in our small little community.  We also have several other restaurants and stores within a couple miles of our house in the small village of Centenario between us and La Paz.

The city of La Paz (the peace) is the capitol of Baja South.  It is a city of over 150,000 people and has plenty of restaurants, shopping, site seeing, churches, culture and activities for all.  Stroll the Malecon (boardwalk) right on the bay and enjoy the statues, the sea, the people, and the views.  Take a boat around the islands just outside the bay of La Paz.  Spend a few days chartering our tournament class fishing charter boat for Marlin, Dorado, Sailfish, Pargo, Yellow Tail, Sierra, Roosterfish and numerous other species from the Sea of Cortez.  Charter our boat and go scuba diving or snorkeling with sea lions or just tour the islands.

Enjoy a day or two on a dirt bike or 4-wheeler desert/ beach excursion.

Take a day and drive the scenic route to Todos Santos and see the artsy crafty town and barter with the local artisans over their wares.  Have lunch at the Hotel California and decide for yourself if that is the Hotel California of the Rock Group the Eagles.

Take the family to the beaches of the outer bay and enjoy the white sands.  Rent a jet-ski, eat lunch, or have a drink right on the beach.

Most of all, relax and enjoy the slower paced life of La Paz while you get your fill of fun in the sun!
