Fishing Trip Details
Our trip begins at the safest and most beautiful marina in La Paz, Marina Costa Baja, Slip L-1.  Departing at 7 am, unless other arrangements are made, we travel approximately 15 minutes to Pichilingue to purchase live bait, and then we cruise to the fishing grounds.  The run to the fishing grounds can take between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the time of year and fish species targeted.  This is a great time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the Sea of Cortez.

During the high season, from mid-April through November, warm to hot air temperatures warm the waters to 78 to 84 degrees F.  This is the ideal conditions for fishing Dorado (mahi-mahi), marlin, yellowfin tuna, and various other species.  Travel time to the fishing grounds is generally shorter during this season.
The winter season brings cooler water temperatures and is ideal for fishing the structures and underwater seamounts between 20-32 miles from the marina.  These structures provide great fishing for many fish species including yellowtail, pargo (snapper), Cabrillo (seabass), roosterfish, and sierra (Spanish mackerel).  Smaller Dorado (mahi-mahi) known as schoolies are also targeted in the winter season.  Whichever season you choose to come, we will take you to the best fishing La Paz and Baja Sur has to offer.

What to Bring
Clients should plan on bringing their own lunch, snacks, and beverages, as well as suntan lotion/sunscreen, hats, and cameras.  We supply ice and bottled water, and contribute $200 pesos per day toward the purchase of live bait. We provide all the necessary fishing equipment as well. Swim suits are recommended, as we encourage a lunch time swim in the beautiful Sea of Cortez.  We have snorkeling equipment on board for your use, and the views under the water are as spectacular as the ones above.  In winter, mornings and evenings are cool, so a sweater or light jacket is recommended. The only other thing you need to bring on your Baja sportfishing charter is a love of adventure.
